ROMEO AND JULIET SCRIPT

Party scene

Did my heart love till now?
Forswear it, sight.
For I never saw true beauty till this night.
If I profane with my unworthiest hand this holy shrine,...
..the gentle sin is this.
My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand...
             
              ..to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.
              Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much,...
              ..which mannerly devotion shows in this.
              For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,...
              ..and palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.
              Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?
              Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer.

A description of your room
My bedroom is great! It´s great and there is a lot of furniture in it. Everything is pink in my bedroom and I call it `the pink room´. I´ve got a small bed, a desk, a chair, a wardrobe and a bookcase. The bed is next to the wardrobe. My desk is under the window. There is a big poster behind my bed. There is a computer and a lamp on my desk and I´ve got books in the bookcase next to my desk. I haven´t got a TV but I´ve got a CD player. I like my bedroom very much.


An email to a penpal
Hi! My name´s Patricia. I´m twelve years old and I am a student at Merton Secondary School.  My favourite school subjects are English and History. My favourite singer is Enrique Iglesias.  He´s great. What about you? Please write soon.

A short text about your plans for the weekend
Next Saturday I´m having my birthday party. In the morning my sister and I are helping our parents with the housework . Then the four of us are going to a pub to have lunch.  In the afternoon we are decorating the house for the party and we are also buying the drinks and the chocolate cake. My friends and cousins are coming at 7 in the evening. After the party we are watching a film on TV.
On Sunday morning I´m going to the sports club to play basketball with my friends. After that I´m visiting my grandparents and we are having lunch with them. In the afternoon I´m studying for my Maths exam on Monday. These are my plans for the weekend.

APRIL FAIR and CARMONA FAIR



1-Seville April Fair is a huge annual event.
2-The fair officially begins on Monday at midnight, normally 2 weeks after Semana Santa (Holy Week)
 3-and ends with a fireworks display the following Sunday, again, at midnight.
 4-As well as flamenco
5- the other main themes of the party are horses and bullfighting
6-Women are dressed up in the colourful "faralaes" or "trajes de flamenca" (flamenco style dress)
7-Some men wear the the traditional "traje corto" (short jacket, tight trousers, boots and hat called "cordobés".
8-At noon every day there is a procession called the ‘Paseo de Caballos’ in which local girls in their full flamenco outfit are pulled through the city in beautiful carriages by splendid horses. (2 slides)
9-In the evening some of the year’s top bullfights take place at the Maestranza bullring.
10-There are more than 1000 marquees, known as ‘casetas’,
11-where there is ongoing flamenco performances, loud music and a bar at the event site. (2 slides)
12- During the fair thousand of locals and visitors alike enjoy the food, drink, dancing and attractions until dawn. (2 slides)
13-The Fair dates back to 1847 when it was originally organized as a livestock fair
14- Carmona Fair dates from 1466, when Henry IV of Castile granted the town the privilege of celebrating an annual cattle fair. (2 slides)
15-In Carmona as well, you can see crowds partying and dancing "Sevillanas", drinking Jerez sherry, or manzanilla wine, and eating tapas. (2 slides)
16-Carmona fair is known for its magnificent marquees. 
17-And it is also known for its a festive atmosphere day and night.

HOLY WEEK Presentation



HOLY WEEK
1-Holy Week is known as ‘Semana Santa’ in Spain and it is most widely celebrated in the towns and cities of Andalucia.
2-Semana Santa takes place the week leading up to the Easter weekend.
3-Semana Santa consists of processions in which enormous ‘pasos’ (floats) are carried around the streets of Seville by teams of ‘costaleros’ (bearers)
4-followed by hundreds of ‘nazarenos’ (penitents).
5-Many of these floats are religious works of art that date back as far as the 17th century, each showing a small part of the Easter story, like the Last Supper.

8-Throughout the city thousands of people line the streets waiting to catch a glimpse of the processions. There are  over 50 brotherhoods (cofradías) with two floats. They follow a set route around the city
9-For the ‘costaleros’ who carry the float it’s an honour to do. Costaleros are mainly males because the floats often weigh over 2000kg. (2 slides)
 (On average there are 40 ‘costaleros’ per float with each one supporting a weight of around 50kg for around 8 hours.)
10-Following the float penitents are dressed in capes and ku klux klan looking head gear. This hides their identity, the meaning being that God is the only one who knows who they are.
11-Women can also be penitents
12-Semana Santa is a religious occasion and the mood of each day’s procession changes
-from the opening ones on Palm Sunday
13-to the sad ones of Good Friday which depict the crucifiction of Christ
14-and finally the happy ones of Easter Sunday which celebrate Christ’s resurrection from the dead.
15-The Good Friday processions leave churches at midnight and are carried throughout the night with huge crowds following their every step. (2 slides)
16-Visitors from all over Spain and many foreigners are present in Seville for the Semana Santa celebrations.

PROCEDIMIENTO DE EVALUACIÓN



En lengua inglesa los bloques de contenidos son los siguientes: 1-listening, 2-speaking, 3-reading, 4-writing, 5-language knowledge (grammar, vocabulary, phonetics and study skills) y 6-sociocultural aspects. Todos los bloques, menos el último, se consideran mínimos.
Para hallar la nota del alumno se valorarán todos los contenidos mencionados, teniendo en cuenta que para superar la asignatura es necesario haber aprobado cada uno de los bloques de contenidos mínimos (1, 2, 3, 4 y 5).              
En el boletín de notas se indicará en una observación cuáles son los contenidos mínimos que el alumno no ha aprobado. Si esto ocurre en la primera evaluación, el alumno podrá superar dichos contenidos en el segundo trimestre; si sucede en la segunda evaluación, podrá recuperarlos en Junio. Si los suspende en Junio, el alumno se examinará de los contenidos pendientes en la prueba extraordinaria de Septiembre. Finalmente, si le queda la asignatura para el curso siguiente, también se examinará sólo de los contenidos pendientes.
El proceso de aprendizaje del alumno se evaluará a través del trabajo diario (actividades, preguntas de clase) y de pruebas objetivas. La primera prueba o control se hará a mediados de la evaluación y la segunda o examen se hará en el último tercio del trimestre. Ambos, control y examen, constarán de cuatro partes (listening, reading, language knowledge, writing), que serán puntuados individualmente de 0 a 10, con lo que no habrá una nota del examen/prueba como tal, sino una nota de cada uno de los aspectos que evalúa. La expresión oral o speaking se hará oralmente en otra sesión.
            A continuación se describe el peso de cada instrumento de evaluación en la nota final de cada contenido mínimo.
Para obtener la nota de reading en cada trimestre se le dará al trabajo de clase un peso del 15%, al ejercicio de reading control un valor del 25% y al del examen, del 60%. De cara a la nota final del curso, la nota de reading de la primera evaluación se le dará un peso del del 15%, a la de la segunda, el 25% y al de la tercera, el 60%. El mismo procedimiento se empleará con la listening, speaking, writing y language knowledge. Con respecto a este último contenido, la prueba escrita y el examen incluirán preguntas de gramática y de vocabulario. En el caso del listening, en el que la evaluación se lleva a cabo con la nota del control y del examen, la plataforma hace una aproximación hasta el cien por cien de ambos porcentajes. También habrá dos notas de speaking, con las que sucederá lo mismo. 

En otras palabras, se trata de llevar a cabo una evaluación continua ponderada, en la que se le da un peso creciente a los diferentes instrumentos (controles, exámenes, notas de clase) en las sucesivas evaluaciones. Todo ello, para, como ya se ha comentado, tener en cuenta todo el proceso y a la vez, darle más valor a los últimos resultados.

CRITERIOS DE CORRECCIÓN 
                   Los writings se puntúan con una nota de 0 a 10. Para ello se tienen en cuenta los siguientes criterios: adecuación del contenido al tema propuesto o decidido por el alumno, organización lógica en párrafos, corrección gramatical, corrección del vocabulario, uso de un registro apropiado, cohesión y coherencia, limpieza y claridad.
                    A las actividades de speaking se les pondrá una nota de 0 a 10, teniendo en consideración los siguientes criterios: fluidez en la comunicación, corrección formal sujeta a la comprensión del oyente, coherencia, uso de estrategias facilitadoras de la comunicación, uso del registro apropiado, actitud cooperativa, esfuerzo por comunicarse de manera eficaz y en el caso de los roleplays, uso de las expresiones adecuadas en relación con la función comunicativa.
                    Las actividades de listening y de reading comprehension se evaluarán con una nota de 0 a 10, teniendo en cuenta la corrección formal y de contenido, reflejando en la puntuación los distintos niveles de compleción de la respuesta.
                   Con respecto al vocabulario, al alumno se le preguntaran cinco palabras, las cuales valdrán dos puntos cada una. La puntuación se pondrá teniendo en cuenta los errores de spelling y la rapidez con la que se da la respuesta. En relación a la gramática, también se le preguntarán cinco aspectos que valdrán dos puntos cada uno. Se tendrá en cuenta la seguridad y rapidez con la que se responde y, en el caso en que la contestación sea incorrecta, el nivel de aproximación a la verdadera respuesta.
                    En los controles y preguntas escritas, cada destreza será puntuada con una nota de 0 a 10. Cada apartado tendrá asignado un peso o valor cualitativo que refleje su dificultad o importancia dentro del examen o los posibles niveles de corrección en la respuesta. Al final estos puntos se sumarán y a cada cantidad le corresponderá una nota cuantitativa. Normalmente, si no se valora como más apropiada otra opción, al 60 por ciento del valor cualitativo le corresponderá un 5, para así aumentar el nivel.
